In this version of Powerful pose, you move into the pose from seated position on a chair rather than the classic way from Mountain pose. This version builds strength in your legs and spine that is helpful when you transfer in everyday situations from sitting to standing. Baxter offers several different several arm variations, so you may wish to watch it through first before trying the pose.

Safety alert! I have been doing this pose with active seniors for a few years and would advise that it is important, when returning to sitting after each pose, to reach back and down for the edge of the chair for a safe landing. It's too easy to come down a little too short and miss the chair!
