This version of Dynamic Bridge pose is another version from the
Krishnamacharya/TKV Desikachar tradition, which includes arm movements along with lifting and lowering your hips. This version is a good choice for practitioners with neck
issues, as your turn your head to the side when your hips are on the ground.

This is very interesting! I've been practicing yoga for almost 5 years now. And I must say, my life has never been this better. Keep inspiring and teach us with you techniques! Cheers!

When I lower my hips, I can feel some very subtle grinding in one hip. I'm sure this is age related, when the joint doesn't smoothly glide along in there anymore. There is no pain but…should I avoid this? Not sure how to get the distinct benefit of lowering the back slowly in this pose except for shifting all the weight to the opposite leg and hip. Thanks.
Without seeing you in person, I can not tell you what is happening in that grinding hip or whether you need to stop. You should consider having it evaluated if it continues to feel that way, as it could be wear and tear in the joint that could become painful in the future. Also, working with an experienced yoga teacher or yoga therapist may provide you with variations of Bridge that do not cause grinding. All the best!
